HBHA Annual Spring Neighborhood Cleanup

Saturday May 14, 2016

10:00 – 1:00

Family/Pet Friendly – Rain or Shine Event

Last year’s cleanup event was super. We had 53 volunteers, 11 of which were from St. Marcus, and the weather was sunny & 70’s. We were finished in about 2 hours and then attended a great cookout hosted by Larry & DeWayne. Let’s make this year’s event even bigger & better.

Kick-off at St. Marcus School in their motor skills room off the playground entrance.

Coffee, juice & donuts will be available prior to the start of the cleanup.

Maps will be provided with assigned areas so that there is no overlap.

2 city dumpsters will be in separate locations and a pickup truck will be available for the larger items.

Please bring gloves and clean-up tools. KGMB will provide 10 grabbers and some gloves but cannot guarantee the quantity. Heavy duty garbage bags will be provided.

St. Marcus’s “Live It” group will participate as one of its volunteer activities.

HBHA has registered our cleanup with the “Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful” (KGMB) organization to further show that the HBHA is actively supporting keeping our neighborhood beautiful and litter free.

If the weather cooperates, and we can comfortably be outdoors, Larry Roffers & DeWayne Bishop will host a “thank-you” cookout immediately following the cleanup.

Cleaning up other people’s litter is not exactly a fun thing to do, but we can definitely make a fun day out of it and take pride in the ownership of our great neighborhood. Please encourage family and friends to join us. Our neighborhood received a lot of outside exposure last year and will again this year so we really want it to shine.

If you plan to participate it would be great if you would RSVP me (bajanczak@gmail.com) so we can get a general idea of the number of participants. If you have any questions please send me an email. Membership forms will be available for those that want to renew their membership or join as new members.
