Block Watch
Serving as a Block Watch Captain is really just an extension of what you probably are already doing on an informal basis – staying alert and being concerned about your property and the property located in your immediate block. As a block watch captain, you are making a commitment that when you see suspicious activity you will take action by alerting both local law enforcement and your block/neighborhood of the suspicious activity.

- Report and document suspicious activities/individuals to Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) and Brewers Hill neighborhood
- Establish & maintain a communication list of your block participants (i.e. names, addresses, phone numbers & emails)
- Monitor and report crime trends and problem areas in your block
- Obtain Neighborhood Watch/Block Watch training from District 5
- Certify your block as a Block Watch Club, which is defined as having at least 50% or more of residential participants within a single block
- Encourage all neighbors in your block to be alert and effectively communicate any odd and suspicious behavior to MPD, and to never put themselves in danger
- Inform, educate, and distribute relevant crime prevention information to your block participants
- Communicate block concerns to HBHA, as well as any applicable information for posting on the neighborhood website
